Draft Gore California Primary
For 2004, to put an "unrecognized" (not seen as seeking the nomination) candidate on the California Democratic Presidential Primary, 500 signatures were neede for each Congressional District (there are 53 in California).
This isn't a lot, but the time frame was short (one month or so). In 2004 this was from about mid November to mid December 2003 for a June primary. In 2008, the primary is being moved up to February. Does that mean the new filing deadline will be July-August?
Either way, the infrastructure has to be set up in all 53 California Congressional Districts to collect the signatures on short notice and qualify Al Gore for the 2008 California Presidential Primary.
That is what I want this group to coordinate. I happen to be in the SF East Bay, but this will need to be all over California.
I will be a delegate to the 2007 California Democratic Convention in April. Anybody else going? That would be a good time to coordinate.

Getting Gore on the Ballot in California
Posted April 6th, 2007 by marchmoonI just posted a forum topic on this in much more detail, but I wanted to bring it up here, because I think there is an excellent chance of getting Gore on the California Democratic Primary Ballot.
In short: The early test is to show the Sec. of State, Debra Bowen, that Gore is "generally advocated for" in California. This shouldn't be too hard to do, because it is true!
