Is oil drilling causing more earthquakes and possible increase plate tectonic movement

With most actions there are unintended consequences and drilling for oil may have dynamic consequences. Drilling for the oil takes out billions of barrels of oil a day and something needs to fill this space.
There have been documented cases where the loss of oil caused earthquakes even though the printed results have been tilted toward the event termed as something other than an earthquake as noted by this article; “Two years ago, a mud volcano in East Java, Indonesia caused millions of dollars worth of damage and displaced more than 30,000 people. That mud volcano – which is still spewing huge volumes of mud today – has found to have been caused by oil drilling, rather than an earthquake as was originally thought. The video below shows the mud flow, which reaches volumes of 100,000 cubic meters per day – enough to fill 53 Olympic-size swimming pools”. Could it be that drilling for oil and removing billions of barrels per day causes the demise of earth’s natural oil shock absorber (the term shock absorber is my description) thereby causing earthquakes and a possible rapid, relatively, movement the plate tectonics?
