Al Gore's Hypocrisy
Posted July 27th, 2008 by heytonester
Is your extremely large mansion necessary? You're a hypocrite.
Your making steps to alleviate your "carbon steps" or whatever dictates nothing. Live the life of an average American. Live in an apartment, or live on the streets. You have no idea what it's like for the most of us.
Then you'll be my hero. Until then, your another inexplicably hypocritical politician.

This attack is similar to ones that are going around; they have a video clip on you tube.

Americans for Prosperity, the group that made this video, is a right-wing pro-oil industry advocacy group founded in 2003 by Charles G. Koch.

And who do you think Mr. Koch is?
Koch Family Foundations[1] consist of the David H. Koch Foundation, the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, and the Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundation.
Funding for the foundations comes from the conglomerate Koch Industries, the "nation's largest privately held energy company, with annual revenues of more than $25 billion. ... Koch Industries is now the second largest family-owned business in the U.S., with annual sales of over $20 billion."
"The company is owned by two of the richest men in America," David H. Koch and Charles G. Koch (described as 'reclusive billionaires'), who have a combined personal fortune estimated at more than $3 billion and who have emerged as major Republican contributors in recent years. ... Both David and Charles Koch are ranked among the 50 richest people in the country by 'Forbes'."
The Koch brothers control the three family foundations that have "lavished tens of millions of dollars in the past decade on 'free market' advocacy institutions in and around Washington."[2] --'The Nation', "What Wouldn't Bob Dole Do for Koch Oil?"

reruns again
Al Gore is no hypocrite. He has devoted years of his life to helping guide America and the world. Can you name anyone else who has done more to alert the world to the climate crisis than Al Gore.
Yes he lives in a large house. He has converted that house to a model of green energy conservation and purchases green energy to power his his home. Buying and using green energy is not a problem, it's part of the solution. Telling us that Gore should live in an apartment, or live on the street, or walk barefoot from town to town might make you feel better, but it wont do a thing to solve the worlds problems.

That might be but explain this. Al Gore was in Canada and his (2) two limos were idling (engine running) for one and a half hours while was holding his speech. When reporters ask why his limos were running for this long he sent out an aid. This aid said Al Gore spoke in the hot sun and needs to cool off. Now first how does he fit into two limos at the same time and second it is not necessary to have a car/limo run for this long. Way to go Gore save the earth. I hope Mr. Gore reads this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See the bigger picture
This kind of stupid anecdotal story shows nothing about Gore. Perhaps it says something about YOU, however, that you would recount this silliness (source unknown) and jump up and down whining, "hypocrite! hypocrite!"
Wow -- compare Gore's life's work with a couple of limos idling for 90 minutes. Yeah man, what a hypocrite, eh?
In fact, nobody is claiming Al Gore is a saint. Neither is he a hypocrite. He leads a global effort to combat climate change -- nothing less than the future of civilization is at stake. Ironically, that might mean he'll (in the short term) use a bit more energy than most other people. Meanwhile, what are YOU doing? Does it take much energy to keep your head in the sand? Or up your ...?
Look at the bigger picture, if you can stand to. You may have to admit some things you don't want to about Gore, and maybe some things you don't want to about yourself.
